Help Calvin Beat Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Jonathan Sandoval, and Calvin Apodaca is my best friend, and I love him like a brother. He is one of the best people that I know, and I count myself lucky to be his friend and his "bonus brother". Unfortunately, Calvin has been diagnosed with cancer again, over a decade after beating it the first time around, and it's looking pretty grim. There's a chance that he can fight this, but he won’t be able to do it alone. I’m asking his friends, family members, acquaintances, and even complete strangers for help in giving him the best shot at beating this terrible disease that has affected so many lives – again.
When I say that Calvin is one of the best people that I know, it's because I mean it. After surviving his first horrendous bout with that dragon, cancer, he dedicated his life to helping people and using his new lease on life to give back. He’s done research in the biomedical and health informatics field at the University of Washington, and he’s worked with numerous veterans during his tenure at the Veterans Affairs Office. In fact, Calvin has also even volunteered his time (as recently as last month) to be a counselor for Camp Kesem, a summer camp for kids from families impacted by cancer. He is truly someone who wishes to be the change that he wants to see in this world.
When my father ended up in a coma, Calvin was one of the first people to offer any help he could. When my father woke up and required constant care, Calvin was there for me and my family, offering financial and emotional support, even if it just meant sending us the occasional pizza or making time to watch the newest Marvel show with me. When the pandemic rolled around and our healthcare providers were unable to provide my family with timely advice or help for my father, Calvin used his background to research the issue and provide my family with whatever help or peace of mind we needed. And when my father eventually passed away? Calvin was there for me again, finding ways to make me laugh and cope with his loss…from thousands of miles away.
Calvin Apodaca is a good person, and each of his friends can attest to his remarkably charitable heart and his unyielding commitment to making the world a better place. He’s like a second brother to me, and I love him. He’s the best friend that I’ve ever had, and his friends and I are determined to not let him go without a fight. Whether you choose to donate for his sake, for my sake, or you’re just a stranger doing so out of the goodness of your heart, I want to assure you that all donations will be going to his care, his medical bills, and keeping a roof over his head. Please, help us help our friend.
Thank you for reading.
