COVID-19 Relief Fund for Calvert County
Tax deductible
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has brought turmoil to the global economy. It has affected families throughout the United States, closer to home in Maryland, and in the local southern Maryland community.
All non-essential businesses are currently closed throughout the state. People who rely on hourly wages are suffering having seen their daily income all but disappear overnight. Many are currently unemployed.
The $2 trillion-dollar coronavirus relief bill will provide financial help, but payments to Americans as a part of that will not be seen for at least a few weeks or longer. Daily expenses continue in the meantime. This fundraising initiative is intended to help those most impacted by the sudden loss of income.
Calvert Family Advocates
We are partnering with Calvert Family Advocates. Calvert Family Advocates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates as a component of the Maryland Association of Social Services Boards Foundation (EIN 26-1192752). Funds raised by Calvert Family Advocates are used to compliment the Calvert County Department of Social Services’ efforts and “close the gaps” where government programs do not exist. Since 2014 Calvert Family Advocates has helped more than 350 households with expenses such as rent, mortgage, utilities, car repairs, medical bills, and job training. Calvert Family Advocates also partners with the Calvert County Public Schools to provide new clothing and summer camp sponsorships for homeless and at-risk youth, with 380 children helped to date. Every dollar you donate counts and will directly help a Calvert County family. Additional information on Calvert Family Advocates can be found at www.calfam.org
Where Your Donation Goes
GoFundMe has partnered with PayPal Giving Fund to deliver donations for charity campaigns. Your donations are tax deductible, and at the time of your donation you will receive a receipt from PayPal Giving Fund. GoFundMe charges no platform fees; however, there is a standard transaction fee per donation (2.9% + $0.30).
