CALM. The Campaign Against Living Miserably.

As some of you may know, we lost my brother-in-law Darren Benstead in December 2023. He was a much loved part of our family, he was such a loveable character and we all miss him so much. 

Me and all of my family have decided to raise as much money as we can in memory of Darren and to help as many people in the position he was in. Every penny can help go towards saving someone's life.

Mental health is something that is not spoken about enough. My aim is to break the stigma of this and try and get people to talk. CALM are an amazing charity who are trying to achieve this with helplines and webchats, operating 365 days a year and staggeringly answering a call every 59 seconds. They offer support for any and all worries - whether that’s anxiety, relationship concerns, health matters, money trouble and worse, suicidal thoughts.

Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And a devastating 75% of this number are male. CALM exists to change this - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably.
