THE CALLUM QUARTLEY CUP

2025 marks the third annual CQ cup. A charity football match and day out organised to raise money and awareness for mental health. For those who don’t know, 3 years ago we lost a brother and fellow member of UPFC. Cal embodied everything it meant to be a friend. He was always laughing, always up for a pint, would chat to anyone no matter who they were. However, for reasons we still don’t know he took his own life and ever since we as a club have strived to promote mental health (especially in men) and want to continue to do so year after year in order to stop this happening again.

Cal was the epitome of a ‘bloke’. Loves football, beers and barbecues, so what better thing to do than all three as a celebration of his life and charity fundraiser.

⚽️ The Match:

In the order for this event to run year on year there will be a two captains that will pick two teams to compete for the CQ trophy and prize. The captains of these teams will be the current chairman (Luke Mahony and the winner of the last years Callum Quartley award (Jay Manning). They will each choose a 14 man squad.

The Day:

The Staddy Pub at Staddiscombe Playing Fields have been kind enough to offer the pub and beer garden to us for the day. There will be big tunes, big beers and big food. On arrival to the pub at midday there will be time for a few pints before the match.

We really want as many people as possible to come to this event. This is not limited just to UPFC, please invite anyone you with. This day is about bringing people together to raise money and celebrate a life.
