Goal : Relaunching in August

For the past 17 years, we have been in Verona to uplift the community and created a handful of businesses to provide spaces for folks to learn, train, enjoy positive experiences and create relationships.

In 2017, we started the process of refurbishing one of the oldest buildings in Verona. The space was created to be a destination and community space for any and all. We’ve had so much help from Framily over the years, giving advice, guidance & ideas and physically moving and building things to make this space what it has become today.

COVID arrived just 18 months after our bike shop relocated and barely a year after our café opening. But we kept going. Week by week we didn’t know what was going to happen and it just kept getting worse. For many the pandemic being over was being able to get back to life as they knew it before. But for us, and many other small businesses, it was quite different. We never got a chance to do what we started.

We put both businesses on pause in January 2023 because we were exhausted. When we took a step back, we realized how damaging the pandemic was to our spirit and soul, which had also caused us to make mistakes. Over the past few months, we have spent time in meetings, reading, learning, re-organizing, re-goal resetting, evaluating needs, wants, what makes us feel right (the “feelski’s” as we call it now).

We’ve created a team that will help to relaunch our space on Bruce Street and it’s continuing to be a community effort in a variety of ways. This effort will allow us to provide jobs back to our loving and energetic crew, reopen our morning cafe scene, continue to be part of the vibrant cycling and triathlon scene each season, bring back special events, allow private event rentals, and revive our evening scene with craft beer, artisan wines and crafty craft cocktails on our amazing patio.

Since March 2020, we’ve absorbed a large amount of debt for our two businesses due to pandemic closures, low customer numbers and supply chain issues. This debt has accrued to levels that we cannot overcome. We used our savings as working capital to keep the businesses moving forward, but that has run out. We are now looking to our community of cyclists, triathletes, coffee afficionados, beer lovers, cocktail sippers and just those who love a good experience, to help push us over this last big climb.

We rarely ask for much and this is honestly the biggest ask of our lives. This ask has been taken under serious advisement with careful consideration and is not something that we take lightly. We now need your help to make one final push and are here to begin a crowd funding effort.

For this relaunch it will be a collective effort to revive both businesses for us, for you and the community. If you choose to donate, you can be confident that we have a game plan moving forward and the support of a solid team of advisors who are businesses owners, marketers and a variety of other professional talents that believe in us, and you.

We believe our global community will show the impact that small deeds can have when combined with a collective effort. If you are unable to support, we ask if you might help to spread the word of our effort to someone who might be able to assist.

Q: What if you don't hit your goal?

A: We will be hitting our goal in a variety of ways -- live & silent auction fundraiser, clicking and donating here, relaunch sponsors of the week, personal and direct donations and grants.

Q: What will the funds be used for?

A: Working capital to get back on our feet, marketing dollars to relaunch as a focused business offering bike services and a cafe/bar scene, and putting a dent into pandemic accrued debt that we have personally not been able to over come.

Q: What is your deadline?

A: We need to raise funds by August to continue the bike shop and cafe.
