On the night of 31st August 2025 at 6:30 pm, tragedy struck when a fire completely destroyed the home of our Mother’s (Katie) home in West Ballina NSW.

I received a phone call from my youngest sister stating that Mum’s house was on fire and that emergency service were on their way, as she video called me, we both watched on as the house burnt every part of the home and the roof collapsed. When emergency services arrived they were unable to save the home as the fire had burnt everything they owned.

All they have left are the clothes on their backs. Imagine waking up one day with nothing familiar to hold onto, nowhere to return to, and no sense of stability. That is the reality they are facing right now.

Anyone who knows our Mother Katie, knows how strong, kind, and giving she is. She has always been the type to show up for others, and now it’s our turn to show up for her. She and her family are starting completely from scratch—needing the basics such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, food, and eventually help finding a new place to live.

We are asking for donations, no matter how big or small, to help our Mother and her family get back on their feet. Every contribution will go directly to helping them rebuild their lives and find some stability in the middle of this unimaginable loss.
