Calling All Friends of Chris Morrissey

Donation protected

On December 24, 2020 Chris Morrissey underwent a life-saving and life-changing surgery that resulted in the amputation of one of her legs. Not long after, Chris was transferred to residential rehab to heal and to begin an intensive program to build strength and to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to recover, maintain independence and navigate her new normal.

Life is forever changed for Chris in all aspects which also includes a great financial burden. The costs of a prosthetic, wheelchair, new mattress and renovations to her living space to make it safe, accessible and comfortable are extraordinary. Chris is facing an estimated and immediate cost of $30,000. This is the reason for our community appeal.

We’ve all seen how Chris has dedicated her life to caring for others and to creating systemic change – locally, across the country and around the world. She is a passionate advocate, a voice for justice, a woman of great compassion. Chris has given of herself, so generously, to so many different individuals and communities throughout her life. This is an opportunity for each of us to share our love and appreciation generously with Chris – to cover costs that are part of her recovery and to make her life more manageable going forward.

All contributions are gratefully accepted and will make a significant difference in Chris’s life. No contribution is too small. Offer what you can.
