People may of seen the newspaper article online back in January on behalf of my sister and Callie as Callie had been diagnosed with an agressive type of cancer at 10 months old and was spending the next few months in Alderhey to receive treatment. After undergoing lots of chemo ( 4 months worth ) and a lot of ups and downs Callie was amazing and the strongest little girl I know. After an MRI a couple of weeks ago we were told everything was going well and all they needed to do was operate on the tumour and give her a course of radiotherapy to kill the rest of the cancer that was left and she was near the end. But unfortunately from the last MRI to now the cancer has now spread to her lungs and is now terminal. It’s a rare and very agressive type of cancer and Callie has been given 4-6 weeks. She will have to spend her last few weeks in a hospice so she’s as comfortable as she can be. No one should have to endure this never mind a 1 year old child. Callie will be leaving not only her mother behind but also her 2 year old brother that adores the bones of her. My sister of course wants to give her the best last weeks of her life and give her a send off fit for a princess and one that she deserves because she’s the bravest little girl we know.
