I am beyond grateful for how God has been moving through this journey. When I first started this fundraiser, I owed $2,989, and honestly, I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it. But through God’s grace and the kindness of my family, I received direct support outside of GoFundMe, reducing my remaining balance to $2,132.

Thanks to your generosity, I’ve now raised $1,385, bringing me to 65% of my goal! That means I only need $747 more to fully pay off my school balance. Seeing this progress has been a reminder that God provides in ways we sometimes don’t expect. I am trusting Him to see this through to completion.

Hi, my name is DJ Keen, and I’m sharing my story because I believe God has led me to this moment for a reason. Two years ago, after rededicating my life to Him, I felt a clear and undeniable call to leave everything I was doing and become a nurse. At first, I didn’t fully understand how I could make such a drastic change, but I trusted Him completely and took the leap. These past two years have been a journey of faith, perseverance, and countless challenges, but through it all, God has been by my side, guiding my every step.

Now, I am just months away from graduating from nursing school, ready to walk fully into the purpose God has placed on my heart. However, I’ve encountered a financial hurdle that I cannot overcome alone. Attending Fortis College, a fast-track nursing program, has been an incredible opportunity, but it has required immense emotional and financial sacrifice. My monthly school payments are $747.25, even after Pell Grants and other financial aid, and the school requires all balances to be paid by March 1st for me to graduate.

Unfortunately, I fell behind while catching up on a previous balance, and I now owe payments for December through March—totaling $2,989. Without paying this balance, I will not be able to graduate, which is heartbreaking after coming so far and giving this program my all.

This is my final term, and it is the most challenging one yet. The workload is intense, and I am also preparing for my NCLEX/boards, which will determine whether I can officially become a nurse. The time and energy required to succeed make it impossible for me to work as much as I have been while keeping up with my normal bills. I’ve come to a point where I either overwork myself and risk not passing, or step out in faith and ask for help from those who may feel led to support me.

I trust that God will provide, as He always has, through the kindness of others. I have faithfully tithed throughout my entire nursing program and have always tried to be a blessing to others in need. One time, I quietly helped a peer with a payment so they could continue in the program, trusting that God sees and honors these moments of generosity. Now, I find myself on the other side, asking for help so I can fulfill this calling He placed on my heart.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward paying my school balance, and I am more than willing to provide proof of payment to show your generosity has truly made a difference. If additional funds are raised, they will help me stay afloat with my regular bills while I focus entirely on finishing school and passing my boards.

God has called me to serve others as a nurse, providing love, care, and compassion to those in need. This journey has strengthened my faith and shown me how vital it is to trust in Him, even when the future feels uncertain.
