This June, I will return to Kenya for my fifth mission trip—something that has become deeply personal to me over the years.

Over the past 10 years, our church, Living Faith Lutheran Church, has built lasting relationships in northern Kenya, particularly in and around Kakuma Refugee Camp and the town of Lodwar. What began as outreach has grown into real, ongoing partnership.

The first photo above is with a man who has been ordained since we first began visiting—a small picture of the lasting work taking place through these relationships.

The second photo is from an earlier visit with a family I first met in 2018 and have returned to see again in 2019, 2023 and 2025. Each time I go back, we pick up where we left off—encouraging one another in faith.

The third photo is of Living Faith Lodwar, a church planted by local believers who chose to name their church after ours—something that continues to humble and encourage me.

These are not one-time encounters. These are relationships—and they are bearing fruit.

Each year, we return not just to visit—but to encourage, strengthen, and walk alongside local believers. Through this work, churches have been planted, men have been trained for ministry, and the Gospel continues to take root in lasting ways.

This year, I will again participate in door-to-door evangelism, sharing the hope of Christ with people who may feel forgotten by the world—but are not forgotten by God.

I keep going back because these relationships matter.
