Call out for Candice

This woman - Ms. Candice Carruthers, is a warrior if I've ever met one. There seems to be nothing on this planet that can squash this amazing woman's spirit, even though the world, at large and small, has tried. 

I don't think you'll meet a more loving, accepting, and giving person. Anybody who has met my mom knows she exudes happiness and positivity. She's been dealt a rough hand in this life, yet still manages to see the light and silver lining in everything thrown her way. I honestly don't know how she does it but it's something I strive to be able to do in my everyday.

You see my Mom, Candice, has cancer. She has a chapter of other ailments  as war wounds on top of this merit, but the beast inspiring this page is Melanoma; an aggressive cancer that has spread from her leg, to her lymphnodes, lungs and now brain. Medications are increasing and only partly covered. Cost of living as a low income senior, combined with the fact she can no longer work a part time job due to her health has led to substantial financial strain.

Any money raised here will go directly to medical costs and costs of living while she undergoes both immunotherapy and radiosurgery. She's had previous surgeries to remove a portion of her leg (shin) and lymphatic system as well as a lobe of her lung. We are keeping our fingers crossed no more surgeries are required.

Her dream right now is a weekend away in Tofino. If we can get this beast of a  illness at bay, that's her light at the end of this tunnel.
