Everyone seems to recognize that we in the United States, and in fact people all around the world, live in very evil times. We are struggling with rampant abortion, terrorism, relativism and the mocking of Christian values. Many are throwing their hands in the air, believing that there is no hope.

Jim Stahlnecker is an Ordained Deacon. He knows that political leaders and military might will not solve our problems, and that Jesus, Our Eucharistic Lord, is the only force in the universe that can defeat this abomination. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, tells us: “In order to convert America and save the world, we need to come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in Holy Hours of prayer.”

Jim has taken this call as a challenge, and he has been doggedly following through by printing and distributing prayer cards in English and in Spanish that are distributed all over the US and in some foreign countries. The cards serve to focus attention on Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament by offering meditative inspirational messages. Since the cards are small items, distributed at no cost, people forget that there are significant costs for printing and mailing. Jim is focused on getting out as many cards as he can, not on recouping the cost.

Bishop John O'hara, Auxiliary Bishop of New York, has complimented Jim’s work in a recent letter: “There is hope, and that hope is found in His Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist! And that hope finds expression in the ever-expanding numbers of Eucharistic Adoration Chapels throughout this land.” He knows that increasing participation in adoration is the key to ultimate triumph.

Deacon Jim is indeed one of the prime movers, but he has run into a “wall,” and he needs our help. His personal savings have been exhausted. He has asked for free-will offerings, but the cards are received one-at-a-time by people in churches, and so there is no mechanism for solicitation of funds. More than two million cards are in the hands of worshipers, which is Jim’s concern. Other people need to intervene, to step-up in support, or this effort to bring people before the Blessed Sacrament will have been defeated!

Please consider joining in Jim’s National Prayer Mission by a gift in support, or in offering a prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.
