Our friends, family Baum, are expecting their 13th child, a little girl – but the pregnancy brings with it a serious diagnosis: “Spina Bifida”. This is a rare and serious malformation in which the baby’s spinal cord and its protective membranes protrude through an opening in the back. This condition poses risks to mobility, the nervous system, and quality of life.

The good news: A specialized surgery while the baby is still in the womb can significantly improve the child's future. This surgery is life-changing – and fortunately, it is covered by health insurance, as are the airfares, since this operation can only be performed in a distant city where the hospital specializes in this type of surgery.

However, the many additional costs associated with this – such as:

- Approximately 2 weeks of accommodation during the hospital stay

- Food and transportation on site

- Countless trips to doctor and hospital appointments before and after the surgery

- and necessary family support on site– are unfortunately not covered.

What's the issue?

The family is currently in a very strained financial situation – several children, ongoing liabilities, no financial cushion. – Since the family moved to a different province 1.5 years ago, they are now in the middle of building their new house. The move also requires a job change, and the associated surgery makes it even more difficult to start a new job, so they currently have no steady income. After the surgery, the mother will be limited to the bare essentials until birth, which makes the situation even more difficult.

They are also very exhausted emotionally and spiritually and are very grateful to everyone for any prayer support. Please pray for the family, the health of their future daughter, and also for the mother's recovery.

Approximately 12,000 CAD dollars are needed for the trip and stay. Please help!!!

Unsere Freunde, Familie Baum, erwartet ihr 13. Kind, ein kleines Mädchen – doch die Schwangerschaft ist mit einer schweren Diagnose verbunden: Spina Bifida, auch bekannt als „offener Rücken“. Dabei handelt es sich um eine seltene und schwere Fehlbildung, bei der sich die Wirbelsäule des Babys nicht vollständig schließt. Diese Erkrankung bringt Risiken für Mobilität, Nervensystem und Lebensqualität mit sich.

Die gute Nachricht: Eine spezialisierte Operation noch im Mutterleib kann die Zukunft des Kindes entscheidend verbessern. Diese OP ist lebensverändernd – und sie wird glücklicherweise von der Krankenkasse übernommen, sowie auch einige Flugkosten, da diese Operation nur in einer weit entfernten Stadt wo das Krankenhaus für diese Operation spezialisiert ist, durchgeführt werden kann.

Doch die vielen Zusatzkosten drumherum, wie:

– Circa 2 Wochen Unterkunftskosten während des Krankenhausaufenthalts

– Verpflegung & Fahrten vor Ort

– Unzählige Fahrten zu Arzt- und Krankenhausbesuchen vor und nach der OP

– und Begleitung durch Familienangehörige, die nötig sind, werden leider nicht getragen

Worum geht es?

Die Familie befindet sich derzeit in einer finanziell sehr belastenden Situation – mehrere Kinder, laufende Verpflichtungen, kein finanzielles Polster. – Da die Familie vor 1.5 Jahren an ihren neuen Wohnort umgezogen ist, sind sie jetzt mitten in der Bauphase ihres neuen Hauses. Der Umzug erfordert auch einen Arbeitswechsel und mit der verbundenen OP macht es die Sache noch umso schwieriger eine neue Arbeit anzufangen, daher haben sie zurzeit kein festes Einkommen. Nach der OP wird die Mutter bis zur Geburt auf das allernötigste beschränkt sein, was die Lage nochmal umso schwieriger macht.

Sie sind emotional und geistlich auch sehr geschlagen und sind jedem sehr dankbar für jede Gebetsunterstützung. Bitte betet für die Familie, die Gesundheit ihrer zukünftigen Tochter, und zugleich für die Wiederherstellung/Genesung der Mutter.

Für die Reise und den Aufenthalt werden ca. 12,000 CAD-Dollar benötigt. Bitte hilf mit!!!
