Cali's beautiful Phace

Meet miss Cali! She is an amazing, beautiful little girl! Her personality is as big as the sky and she is the most loving little girl I've had the opportunity to meet! Cali was born with a syndrome called Phace syndrome. Early on it was diagnosed as bruising from the way she laid inutero, until she was seen by a number of specialist. Phace stands for: posterior fossa, hemangioma, arterial lessons, cardiac abnormalities, eye abnormalities. Phace syndrome comes with many complications ranging from vision loss, neurological disorders - ranging from headaches, developmental delays, speach delays, seizure disordersdisorders and worse case senerios strokes - and cardiac disorders. At this point because on lack of treatment it is unknown what exactly is effected by Cali's Phace syndrome. At this point what I can tell you is Cali's immune system is very weak, a simple cold creates problems with her breathing. Now why the go fund me? Unfortunately there are no doctors in the Syracuse area that have the information to treat Phace syndrome. Cali is about to be a year old and finally the first step is being taken! She has an appointment to be evaluated by a doctor that is familiar with the syndrome in New York City. As I'm sure you can imagine the expenses are going to be high. This is just the first step.. If the doctor determines he is unable to treat Cali she will be referred to Boston's childrens hospital to the actual Phace clinic. Cali's mom Amber is the most amazing woman I've had the opportunity to have apart of mine and my kids life. She was told by Cali's PCP and cardiologist that because of the risks yo Cali she is unable to work. She is currently providing round the clock to Cali, as well as Cali's 2 brothers. She will probably have my head knowing I'm asking for help, but she is a woman that would give her shirt off her back to anyone who needed it, in fact she has dome that for my kids! She deserves to begin this long haul of treatments for Cali without wondering how she is going to pay her mortgage or put food on the table for her kids. She needs piece of mind knowing that while she is traveling to New York City or Boston she has money to put gas in her tank or stop to eat, or hopefully a hotel to lay her head so she is not driving with Cali 10+ hours a day for an hour or 2 appointments.

** To my friends and family.. I ask you to pay it forward to Miss Cali.. Amber asked me to go with her to Cali's appointment, of course I said yes and then asked when... May 26th.. This is a great opportunity to pay it forward in Chris' name. True it is not military based, however Cali's risk for losing her vision is very high. Chris's vision almost cost him his dream. Amber has become my family, she loves my children as if they are her own, and she has been the most amazing friend to me! There is not a person more deserving to have piece of mind while she handles the needs of her daughter.
