California Wildfire Relief Fund For Eric James
On August 20, 2020, our son Eric James DeAratanha’s home and the recording studio he built from scratch on the bottom level, burned to the ground as the CZU Lightening Complex Fires raged through the Santa Cruz Mountains. Most importantly he is safe, but he lost everything, except what he could grab as he evacuated. We have set up the fundraising goal to get Eric back on his feet and help him find a path forward to rebuild his home and business.

His beautiful friend Aaron shared these words for this Go Fund Me page that speak so clearly about Eric and his need for this crowd-funding effort.
"Anyone who has ever come into contact with Eric knows what a gigantic heart he has. He commits himself to sharing love wherever he goes. Whether it is playing music or pouring tea. Eric is a creative wonder, full of love and magic. Now is our moment to show him the love. Please show Eric how much we love and appreciate him by donating what you can. His heart is broken wide open so let's show him the love that is all around him."
After losing almost all of his possessions, Eric is faced with creating a new life for himself after his home of six years burned into ashes and smoke in the Santa Cruz fires.
He needs these funds to replace important equipment and instruments for his work and to find a new home, in which he will have to replace everything he owned from a bed to clothing to pots and pans.
While this is where Eric lived and had his music studio, it was also a sanctuary to so many of his dear friends and family. Losing this house is a big loss for an entire community.
