California Fire: The Kirin Family
Donation protected
The Northern California "Camp Fire" has devastated thousands of lives and destroyed entire towns. Over 100,000 acres have been burned and 81 people killed. It is now California’s most destructive fire in state history. My family has been directly impacted by this fire. On Thursday afternoon, I received news that my aunt and uncle, as well as my cousins, lost everything.
The Kirin families lost both their houses, their vehicles, and all of their belongings to the fire on Thursday morning. My Uncle Joe and Aunt Marilyn Kirin did not even have time to bring their medications when they were rescued. They could only bring the clothes they were wearing. They are completely overwhelmed and devastated having lost everything they owned.

Joe (81) and Marilyn (74) Kirin have lived in their Yankee Hill home for 27 years. Their son Brian, his wife Jamie, and their two kids lived one street away and the fire also completely destroyed their home. There was no time to react or to comprehend what was happening around them. They had to leave everything behind.
Both families are currently staying in Oregon. Joe and Marilyn are unsure if they will return to California or stay near family in Oregon. They are considering buying a trailer and living on property that our family owns. Their town is in ashes and most of it doesn’t exist anymore. Their financial means are very limited and they are both on various medications for ongoing health conditions.
Joe and Marilyn will use the money from this fundraiser to buy things that they need in order to start their lives again. Specifically, my aunt is in need of a lift chair and both my aunt and uncle have not been able to get their medications.
This money will go towards helping eleviate the immediate financial burden they are in. Social security is the only income that they receive, and it is not enough to support them during this time.

100% of money raised will go directly to Joe and Marilyn Kirin to rebuild their lives. The financial burden they are facing is tremendous. All donations would be extremely appreciated!
My name is Daniela Lerma and Marilyn is my grandma's sister. I live on the other side of the country and feel pretty helpless in this situation; so with their permission, I created this page for them.
When it is time to withdraw the money, I will send an email to my cousin Jamie (because my aunt and uncle do not have an email address), and she will sit with them to enter in their bank information. I will not be handling the money whatsoever—it will go directly into their account.
