We’re Lynn, Sasha, and Neal —Nonviolent Communication (NVC) trainer certification candidates raising funds for meals and lodging at the CALF Retreat 2026, a 9-day advanced NVC immersion for CNVC certification candidates and others deeply steeped in living NVC. Our intention is to deepen our capacity to meet this cultural moment of polarization by offering more workshops, conflict mediation, and community learning: bringing greater compassion and connection to our communities.
Why we’re raising funds
Meals and lodging for the retreat cost $2,500 per person ($7,500 total for the three of us). We are covering all tuition and travel costs ourselves, and we’re asking for support specifically with on-site expenses so we can fully participate without financial strain.
All donations go into a shared CALF fund. First, we’ll use it to cover meals and lodging for Neal, Sasha, and Lynn (up to $7,500, depending on actual costs). Any funds beyond what’s needed for the three of us will go to support other CALF participants—this year and/or in future retreats—coordinated with the CALF team.
Why this retreat matters
This immersion is designed to help us learn by seeing, feeling, and doing—deepening NVC energy and consciousness while honoring Marshall Rosenberg’s legacy. It also supports the three prongs of certification: knowing, living, and sharing NVC, through self-assessment and feedback.
What You'll Experience:
This 2-hour workshop includes opening connection, a 45-minute experiential breakout session, and closing integration. You'll have the opportunity to choose one of three sessions, each led by certification candidates Lynn, Sasha, and Neal:
- Are we really free to choose no matter what? (Lynn)
- The Pulse Behind the Pain: Accessing Life Energy Through Mourning (Sasha)
- The Gift of Good Enough: Freedom from Perfectionism (Neal)
What we learn will flow directly into our communities through:
- Empathy and mediation through workshops and practice groups
- Teachings grounded in Marshall Rosenberg’s and FirstGen wisdom
- NVC trainings in Ukraine, Sasha’s country of origin
This retreat helps us expand our capacity—and multiply what we can offer.
Your support does more than send us to a retreat
It helps us bring the retreat home. Everyone who donates will be invited directly into:
- Retreat updates
- Debriefs & shared learning
- Workshops & community calls
- Opportunities for empathy sessions, mediation, and more
Your support becomes part of what we offer back to North Carolina and beyond.
