Hi everyone, my name is Caleigh and I am Cale Allbritton's wife. As many of you know or for those who don't, back in 2014 Cale had brain surgery to remove a benign tumor that had grown on his left temporal lobe. To God's glory, this surgery was successful in removing all areas of the tumor and it has not had any re-growth since. Cale has been following up with his neurologist ever since due to continuously battling small focus seizures daily due to left over scar tissue from the original surgery. Due to where his tumor was, these focal seizures cause a loss of speech at times which makes it difficult for him to get out words during these short episodes. Luckily, he has been on medication over the last 10 years that have helped with these but have not completely taken them away. He is also on morning/nightly medication to control generalized tonic-clonic seizure's, which thankfully has been working well but there is always a chance of re-occurrence. After meeting with his team of Doctor's, it is very evident that in order to get rid of these seizures for good and for the safety of Cale's health/future, our only option is a follow up surgery to remove some of this scar tissue and hopefully limit the amount of extra brain activity occurring in this area.
Cale underwent a variety of tests back in December where we received so much love and support from our families and friends. We met with his neurosurgeon this past month who reviewed all of the findings and Cale is now booked for surgery. Today (June 24th, 2025), we will be making our way back to Orlando Health hospital where they plan to begin with interventions to get rid of these seizures. Due to the complexity of Cale's case, this will be a "play it by ear" type of surgery based on more in depth scans as well as if the seizures are staying local to one area of the brain or spreading. There are a few options his neurosurgeon presented us with based off how the first few days go (after being hooked up to a Stereotactic electroencephalography (sEEG)). There is chance of an ablation type surgery, neuro-stimulator implantation or worst case scenario a chance of having to open him back him for further interventions.
With that being said, Cale and I will be out of work for minimum two weeks as he undergoes these tests and procedures with hopes for a full recovery. We are re-sharing this Go-Fund me as we were overwhelmed with support back in December and were able to pay off his medical bills from that stay as well as cover our missed time at work/make all of our bills for the month. Unfortunately this stay will be a bit longer and more invasive. There is potential for Cale to have to receive follow up services after his surgery, such as speech/physical therapy. We are so faithful and confident that God's plan is greater than ours and there is so much good to come. Our hope for re-sharing Cale's journey is to get a team of prayers, love and support as no one should face hard things alone.
We are incredibly thankful for anything, even if its just a prayer as we prepare for these next steps. I will be providing updates as the time comes in regards to his journey through my Facebook page.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and be here. We are forever grateful for your love and support.
(I have had many people reach out in the past asking for Cale's phone number, venmo, etc. Please message me separately and I can provide you with this information).
Once again, from the bottom of our hearts we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you and are putting this in God's hands as he is in full control!
