Help Us Ensure This Case Can Be Heard
Since 2020, hundreds of residents, business owners, property owners and home purchasers have come together to seek justice through the Ontario courts following the events surrounding the McKenzie Meadows occupation in Caledonia.

The Plaintiffs in this class action allege that they suffered significant financial losses after multiple Superior Court injunctions were not enforced during the 2020 occupation. Those allegations are denied by the Province of Ontario and other Defendants, and the issues will ultimately be determined by the Court.

For more than five years, this litigation has continued because ordinary people believed these important legal questions deserved to be heard. Along the way, hundreds of class members have shared their experiences, provided evidence, completed questionnaires and supported one another through what has become a lengthy and challenging legal process.

Today, the case has reached one of its most important stages.

The Court has scheduled a full-day leave hearing for December 1, 2026, and the Plaintiffs continue to prepare the legal materials necessary to present their case. We have also asked the Court for permission to file a short Reply Factum so that we may respond to new legal arguments raised by the Defendants. That request is presently awaiting a decision.

Why We Are Asking for Your Support
Complex class action litigation requires an enormous amount of work behind the scenes.

Preparing court materials, researching legal authorities, organizing evidence, responding to legal arguments and preparing for hearings all involve significant ongoing expense.

Contributions to this campaign help support the continuing prosecution of this litigation, including:

  • legal research;

  • preparation of court documents;

  • litigation disbursements;

  • expert and professional expenses;

  • court filing and administrative costs.

Every contribution, regardless of the amount, helps us continue moving this case forward.

All help us continue moving this litigation forward.

A Personal Thank You
This litigation has always been about more than a lawsuit.

It is about the people whose lives, businesses and homes were affected during the events of 2020.

Many individuals have contributed countless hours of their time without compensation because they believe these issues deserve to be heard fairly and openly by the Court.

Whatever the outcome, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past five years.

Thank you for standing with us.
