My Mission Trip
Donation protected
My name is Caleb Burgess. I'm 18 years old and in May of 2015, I dedicated my life to Christ. After living for years without God, I realized He had been there the whole time, guiding me along, protecting me, and pulling me in. After a series of storms in my life, I went searching for answers. Through that I came across a few people that showed me the love of Christ. After praying that God reveal Himself to me if He was real, He did. I turned on my TV and stumbled upon a show that was a comedy but the entire episode consisted of the characters seeking the answer for the question of God. The inevitable answer was yes. So I started reading my bible and taking the God thing seriously. I read the story of Jesus and gave my life to him shortly thereafter. I then realized a while after falling in love with Christ, that God gave me a heart for missions, specifically in areas that are dangerous and others may not want to share the gospel. This trip is my way of getting my foot in the door and seeing if this is what God wants for me. This trip is not a typical mission trip however. We will not be delivering the gospel to strangers in this area because of the high danger. We are travelling to a 10-40 window unreached people group. There, we will be encouraging a family of missionaries that are being worn down by the Islamic populace. Our goal is to build them up with the love of Christ and encourage them with the fellowship of believers. This will give me the experience I need to better understand the world of missions that I want to be a part of. The money raised will cover my plane tickets and other travel expenses along with my food expenses. We will be leaving on April the 1st and coming back on April the 10th. I’m going with one of my best friends, Mr. Gaines Roberts, and his father, Braxton Roberts. I would need the funds as soon as possible because the trip is in April and we have to buy plane tickets soon. This means the world to me because this trip will change the course of my life and how I view the world. God gave me a heart for people and a heart for Him, and I want with all my heart to glorify Him with what He has given me. I’m asking for prayer primarily and support money secondarily. I would be ever so thankful if you could give anything at all because we will be needing prayers. However, with money I would only want you to give if you feel inclined to give; I wouldn't want you to give begrudgingly or halfheartedly. I would want you to support this with your whole heart if you decide to give. Thank you!
