Caleb's Africa Mission Trip

In the last 8 months, my life has been turned upside down. After years of searching for fulfillment and freedom in the world, I had come up empty and was hungry for something real. I had searched the world and it couldn't fill me. All of this changed when my parents sent me to visit my brother at a missionary training school through an organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM). It was there that I radically encountered God's love for me during a ministry night and my heart was gripped. I had finally found something worth living for. Something real that truly fulfilled me. God has broken down the hardness of my heart and replaced it with a fire and a hunger for him. I haven't been the same since.
These past 3 months I have been attending the same missionary training school where I visited my brother. During this time, the Lord has begun to grip my heart for many of the third-world countries that we have been learning about. In the past few weeks, he has opened up the door for me to join a team that is headed into East Africa to help serve the people there and to minister to them for the next 2 months. In the villages here, we will be partnering with local contacts and YWAM bases to help train people in the DMM (Disciple Making Movement) method of evangelism which we have been taught during our lecture phase and we will be serving the people through community involvement projects. A large portion of our time will also be spent in the mountains, trekking, and camping to these 7 unreached people groups. We will be bringing them bibles which our team here has translated into their own language for the first time ever and will be spending time in their villages ministering to and serving them.
I feel like the Lord has planted the desire in my heart to use my college education at Cornell for the mission field someday and that this trip will give me the vision of what the needs are in impoverished nations such as these and how I can use my future degree to be part of the solution! In order to do this I am raising support. Above all, I need your prayer. Pray for the safety of our team and that the Lord would be able to use me to help minister to the people in this country. Secondly, I need financial support. I have already worked for and raised about half of the funds but I will need to raise about $2,500 more. If you want to know a little about YWAM, this video shows just a glimpse of it. https://youtu.be/FhKj9qi445A Thank you guys and God bless!
