"Yesterday at 1:30, Cory Shane Davis and I arrived for the second to last OB appointment of our pregnancy.

Our ultrasound was first. I laid down on the table, they slathered me up, and they looked at a few different angles and then asked me “when was the last time you felt him move?”
The question really threw me.
I said “I could have sworn this morning. He hasn’t been doing big sharp kicks for about a week, but definitely some flutters of rolling and readjustment.”
She said “hmmm.. I’ll be right back. Let me talk to the doctor.”
And then 10 of the longest minutes of my life. It felt obvious something was wrong.
30 minutes later, once my doctor makes it, we find out that … our son… his heartbeat has stopped. There is no more movement. We’ll need to do a c-section."
-Megan Andersen, Mother of Caleb Zeref Andersen-Davis

Caleb Zeref Andersen-Davis was stillborn at 7:30pm September 29th, 2022. He has left behind a beautiful family to watch over them from above under horrible circumstances. He has two unbelievably strong parents and four older siblings who were so excited to meet their sweet baby brother.
Megan was scheduled for c-section in less than two weeks. They had their little ones space prepared and was posting her friends pictures of all the cute clothes she had for him. Cory painted a surprise picture on her baby bump as they waited for there next two appointments and eventually the arrival of Caleb.

The pregnancy had been rough. Megan struggled with pre-eclampsia but at every appointment Caleb was on track and doing well. There were no indicators things would go wrong. The ultrasound didn't show a cause for the heartbeat to be gone. During surgery, the doctor discovered Caleb's cord wrapped twice around his neck. Nothing could have predicted this would happen.
Megan and Cory have spent so much on preparing for this new little baby and most things have been taken out of the boxes and the tags have been removed. Not much is returnable to the store. Now they are having to scramble to cover cremation costs as well as their normal monthly expenses.
Any money raised will go to creamation costs and memorial items for immediate family as well as any type of service they decide to have.
I want to thank anyone who has read this far and to anyone who chooses to donate, I am so grateful for your help.
