Caleb Roman McKague
On August 5th, 2023 Caleb Mckague passed away at the age of 12. Navigating the devastating loss of a child comes with many burdens. It can also leave many of us feeling helpless and not knowing what to do.
My name is Shawna Wolfe, and I am a close friend of the McKague family and have known Cindy, and Caleb's Aunty Alicia for over 20 years. I'm reaching out to you today in an effort to raise funds for them to help their family manage the cost of Caleb's celebration of life. Of all the things a grieving family needs to worry about, this is one thing that we can all band together and take off their plate.
Caleb was born on April 10th 2011, and spent the first 4 weeks of his life in the St Boniface hospital NICU. Caleb was diagnosed early on with cerebral palsy, but that label didn't define him.
Caleb loved basketball, swimming, walking around Lowe's, watching Full House, going to school, playing with his best friend Everett, playing video games with his cousins, cookbooks (especially if they had pictures of fish in them) and playing his Opa's guitar. He was to start grade 7 at John Gunn School after he spent his elementary years charming his way through the halls of Joseph Teres in his walker or on his specialty bike.
UPDATE
A celebration of Caleb's life will be held on Tuesday August 29th, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Transcona Country Club - Manitoba Room, and all are welcome. There will be a time of togetherness after the service.
