I am humbly reaching out to my friends and family on behalf of my nephew Caleb DuFrane and his family. Caleb is a good hearted, hard working young man, and he and his family could use our help.
On October 5th, Caleb was involved in a work accident while cutting with a circular saw. The circular saw kicked back and severely injured three of the fingers on his left hand. Living in rural South Dakota, the medical team felt that the Mayo in Rochester, MN would be more equipped to handle the severity of the injury. Caleb was flown by helicopter to the Mayo where he was immediately prepped for surgery; after consulting with the surgeon, they decided to attempt to repair and reattach all three fingers, knowing that the outcome may not result in saving all three. After allowing time for the repairs to heal, it has been confirmed that all three fingers are healing well. However, it is recognized that the road to recovery is still long.
With the great news of the surgery and healing process, his post care has continued with his medical team at Mayo, where Caleb makes the 12+ hour round trip from his rural hometown in South Dakota multiple times a month. Unfortunately, he does not have the medical insurance to cover all of the $100,000 plus expenses that have accrued with the severe injury. The combination of medical bills, travel required for health care, and the inability to work during this time has put a large financial strain on his family.
Through this time, I would like to ask that you lift up Caleb and his family and surround them in prayer. We pray that if you feel led to give financially, please use the GoFundMe created to support them. These financial gifts will be used to help pay accumulated medical bills, transportation for continued medical care, as well as basic necessities to help his family through this time that he is out of work. We trust that the Lord will see him and his family through this hardship.
Thank you for your support
