Caleb and Brie hospital and bills fund

UPDATE 2/22: Caleb came home yesterday just in time for his birthday. He has continued to do well in his recovery and was discharged from rehab. He still has a long recovery ahead of him but is finally home. His family thanks everyone for their support over these past few weeks.
UPDATE 2/10: Caleb was moved to an inpatient rehab center late last night. He can now eat solid foods and drink liquids and have full conversations. He has multiple therapy sessions to help with his speech and movement. He is doing well and has made a lot of good progress within the past few days. He will be re evaluated within the next week to decide his next steps and when he may be able to come home.
UPDATE 2/7: Caleb has had a good past few days. His first physical therapy session was today and went well. He was able to walk with a cane and stand up/ sit back down on his own. Doctors are talking about discharging him within the next few days to an inpatient rehab.
UPDATE 2/5: Caleb did well on his swallow test today and has been given the okay for a primarily liquid diet. PT/OT have given him the okay to start trying to walk, he goes on a short walk with assistance and a walker. Doctors are hopeful to move him to the step-down unit tomorrow. He hasn’t had any fevers and is still responding well to his pneumonia treatment. There are still a few concerns that doctors are working through but overall he’s been improving a lot in the past 24 hours.
UPDATE 2/4: This morning doctors removed Caleb’s breathing tube and he is currently breathing on his own under close supervision. His first deep breathing test went very well. He is still using a chart to communicate and asked to try to walk so they are starting the steps towards getting a physical therapist to evaluate him and work with him. He is still in the ICU and doctors want him to take it easy and have a quiet day but so far he is having a good day.
UPDATE 2/3: Doctors are hoping to remove Caleb’s breathing tube tomorrow. They currently have his ventilator on a low setting and he has been doing okay so far. He’s often pretty tired but when he’s awake he’s full of sass. He’s also coughing and asking for his mouth to be hydrated which are good signs right now.
UPDATE 2/2: Caleb and Briannas family want to thank everyone who has shown their love and support over the past few days. Calebs chest tube was removed today. He has been awake and alert today and his heart rate and blood pressure have become more stable.
UPDATE 2/1: Doctors are hoping to try to take Caleb off of the chest tube tomorrow. They also have identified the bacteria causing his pneumonia meaning they can treat it better now. His chest X-rays have improved and at this point they see no reason he wouldn’t make a full recovery.
UPDATE 1/30: Caleb has a C1 fracture, multiple broken ribs on the left side, pneumonia, a concussion, a bruised left lung, and his right lung was drained after being filled with fluid. He is currently still on a breathing tube in the ICU and responding well to his pneumonia treatment. When he is awake he is aware and able to communicate using a chart.
On January 27th Caleb was in a serious car accident that has resulted in him being in the ICU. With their wedding coming up I wanted to make a fund for any hospital bills as well as monthly bills with Caleb being out of work. We appreciate any positive thoughts and anything you can give to help them during this time.
