Caring for Calaya
Donation protected
This is a family-created fund on behalf of Corey and Caiti Chase, for their daughter Calaya. She means the world to us and her smile and laughter continue to bring us so much joy!
Calaya was born on January 9, 2015. She is the happiest baby ever and loves to laugh. She has been at Seattle Children's hospital since late April. She is being treated for Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (red blood cell destruction), a very rare condition for an infant. After a series of red blood cell transfusions, it was discovered that even with new blood, her body still attacks and destroys her red blood cells. To date, this sweet little girl has received over 30 transfusions and other treatments that weaken her immune system and make her vulnerable to infection. The transfusions and treatments are ongoing until they determine a cause for the abnormal red blood cell destruction, which so far have been unsuccessful. Thanks to Puget Sound Blood donors and the fantastic team of doctors and nurses at Seattle Children's, we remain hopeful.
Caiti and Corey have been living at the hospital since April. All of their meals are purchased within the hospital. They still have their house payment, a dog, a cat, and bills. Any financial help with their cost of living and care for Calaya would be so helpful. Your prayers and donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you! God Bless!
