My name is Elizabeth. I live here in California with my husband. I am the oldest member of my family who lives near the town of Getafe on the island of Bohol in the Philippines and who I am trying to help. My family who has little food nor any house in which to sleep. I have sent as much as I can now and plan to send more later. "Can you help? Can you please donate to help? Typhoon Odette severely damaged the houses of my family and all their neighbors as well. Some of their houses completely vanished late at night by the storm surge created by typhoon Odette On December 16, 2021. This typhoon was a signal # 5 ( the strongest. ) With the strongest winds and storm surge not seen for 50 years in this area. My brothers chicken farm (550 egg laying chickens) lost its roof and now the 300 chickens that are left like many people there are totally exposed to the elements. My family and there workers who depend on this income will salvage what they can but time is running out. Houses close to the ocean and on the smaller islands near the small island of Bohol were destroyed in the middle of the night by storm surge dragging most of there belongings out to sea. My family's property has one of the only fresh water sources in that area now. Amazingly even though they are victims themselves and have many repairs to make they are spending much of there valuable time to give water to who ever needs it including people from nearby smaller islands that got hit even harder. Family's had there farms, livestock and boats for fishing all destroyed and have little in the way to grow or gather food or able to have a income to take care of there family's. There is no power or cell phone signal. There is no way to make contact except in the larger cites that are many miles away. Think of what it must have been like to have Christmas under these circumstances. Again please donate to Gofundme to help my family and those close to them in my hometown of Getafe We are looking for those generous kindhearted people who could share their blessings. Any small amount will help them in such a big way.
Funds will first go towards providing food and basic necessities during the disaster, then for materials for rebuilding homes, farm's, and restoring livelihoods so family's will be able to make a living and be able to take care of themselves. Other items needed include a generator and a chainsaw for all the downed trees and debris that is everywhere.
