My name is Cal Bender and I’m an emerging whitewater slalom athlete from Chelsea, Québec. In 2024, I was the top ranked U-18 athlete in the province, and finished 11th overall at the U.S. National Championships, where I competed against U-23 and Senior level athletes.
In 2024, I earned a place on Canada’s U-18 national team for kayak cross. I trained and raced throughout North America and Europe and placed 31st at the World Championships in Slovakia.
I’ve come a long way and I want to keep progressing, ideally by representing Canada at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
I am also an Elite Level Sport Études athlete studying Advanced Sciences. In 2025, I’ll again be balancing sports, school, and work, but I am disciplined and motivated.
Being an amateur athlete is expensive. To contribute to coaching, equipment, and travel fees, I work as a whitewater instructor and coach. My training and travel budget this year is forecasted at $22,000 and I’m looking for extra help.
I’d very much like to connect on opportunities for me to support your businesses or your interests in exchange for financial sponsorship.
Please feel free to reach out anytime.
Many thanks,
Cal
