CAKES’ Friends & Family Fundraiser

When it came to picking a location for our company headquarters, we found a magical spot on the corner of Sunset Blvd and PCH in the Palisades.

It was a fairytale coming true. The beauty and serenity of the Palisades is undeniable, but what made it special was the bond that we quickly formed in this tight knit community.

The support for CAKES from the Palisades community came in many forms – three of the closest friends of our brand have lost their homes. While CAKES is contributing to each, we will only be able to scratch the surface on the expenses that lie ahead. 100% of the donations raised will support the families listed below to help lighten the financial burden that lies ahead as they rebuild.

Rachel Jonas, Rob, Leo (3) and Jax (1)

Rachel & her husband Rob are the most kind, welcoming, hard working people you will ever meet. They were building a life for their young family in the Marquez Neighborhood with their sons Leo (3) and Jax (1). Their door was always open to their neighbors, hosting special neighborhood gatherings that made everyone feel welcome. Their home, car, and all of their belongings were completely destroyed in the wildfires, along with both of their sons’ schools/daycares.

Paula Edwards

Paula has called the Palisades home for 26 years, raising both of her daughters here, and is the type of person who makes a neighborhood feel like a community. She shows kindness & compassion to complete strangers, and will smile at anyone who crosses her path. Her home and all of her belongings were completely destroyed in the wildfires.

Ashley, Jackson, JJ (1), and Baby Girl (Due in May)

Ashley & Jackson were excited to be starting a family in the Pacific Palisades, with their adorable son JJ and a baby girl on the way. They lived in a cozy house in the Marquez neighborhood that was close to the daycare that they loved for their son, and with many of their closest friends within walking distance. Their home and all of their belongings were completely destroyed. With their baby girl due very soon, we are hopeful to provide them some support at an extremely stressful time.
