Hi Everyone!
My name is Breanna Washington and I am a Filmmaker. As I begin my last semester in film school, I have dedicated one of my last short films of my matriculation to telling a fun and light-hearted story about two rivaling bakery shop owners. It's called "Cake Wars." One owner represents an older generation, a "boomer" as we call them, and the other a 20-something "millennial." I wanted to take a comedic approach to how these two generations square off in an unconventional way: A BAKE OFF!
Some of you may know what goes into making a movie, specifically the FUNDS. Those multi-million dollar budgets from your favorite movies go towards very specific things. For a small student filmmaker like myself, spending $100 million on a short film... Let's just say I'm not in that tax bracket! On a much smaller scale, the budget for a short film goes towards a few of the most important things you need to have like FOOD, art direction, location deposits, FOOD, equipment rentals, last minute mishaps, did I mention FOOD for the crew? As the director of the project, I, along with my AMAZING crew, will be in charge of bringing all this to the film with the financial backing to make it all happen.
With a 6 day production shoot planned for March 2019, I'm hoping to rally all of my biggest supporters, friends, family, former teachers, acquaintances, and mentors to help me make a film I'd be proud to share with you all! I personally will be contributing to the film thanks to several scholarships I've received from my institution for being a 4.0 student and community leader championing for inclusivity in the film/tv industry. I hope I can make my goal with your help! Any amount is a perfect amount. I pledge to update all my supporters periodically with the progress of the film! Thank you for your love and contribution!
