Many know about my battle with breast cancer. In 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I underwent surgeries, chemo, radiation, and was placed on oral medication. The week before Christmas (2025), we found out that the medication didn't work in preventing a recurrence and we learned Claudia Lilith is back and has spread to my liver, giving me the diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. After getting a second opinion, we’ve made the decision to switch from KU to St. Luke’s. Unfortunately, my insurance changed on Jan 1 and they are out of network, meaning not covered at all. I was able to switch insurances, but nothing will be covered until Feb 1, AND that means I’ll have two deductibles and out-of-pocket max’s to meet. I’ve missed one shift so far and don’t know what treatment will do to my ability to work. I will be off work after surgery as well, but we don’t know when that will be yet.
