For those that do not know, Caitlin has an autoimmune disease, Lupus Nephritis. Over the past 4 years Caitlin has put up a huge fight but unfortunately things have gotten very difficult. She is currently awaiting a kidney transplant that will hopefully allow her to live a healthy, normal life. While she waits, she has to have dialysis 3 times a week. Recently Caitlin has run into several complications and is currently hospitalized. She has been in the hospital for 33 days and we are trying to lift her spirits and give her a glimmer of hope.
Thank you so much to all of you who have stood by the Antrim Family’s side during these last four years of Caitlin’s journey. During ALL this time, and especially during Caitlin’s recent hospitalization, your thoughts, cards, notes, and especially your deeply meaningful prayers have meant SO much to them.
Many of you have said you want to do more, so this got us thinking.
Those of you who know Cait know that she has very specific things that bring her joy: her immediate family, her extended family, her dog, her numerous friends, her work family at the police department, music, the tv show Brooklyn 99, and her love and passion for travel.
The last four years of the Antrim Family vacations, Cait has spent the majority of the time lying in a hotel bed or going to urgent care clinics because she was so sick. We got to thinking that perhaps we could set up a fund to help Cait do what she loves most . . . to take a trip!
Perhaps we’ll have enough to buy Cait a plane ticket to New Orleans, to San Francisco, or somewhere else that brings her joy. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for her to have this to look forward to?
So for those of you who continue to tell us you want to do more, here is something meaningful for Cait.
