Cait Marie Naylor was diagnosed with Rhabdomysarcoma in 2019 and, with incredible grace and strength, battled the disease until she passed away with her family by her side on January 16, 2023. Beyond her beauty and outgoing personality, Cait was known for her love of learning and her passion for baking and creating art. Even during her treatments, she found happiness in attending school—whether in person or online—and cherished time with her friends, especially at football games.

To honor Cait's legacy, her family has sponsored a scholarship for a graduating senior at West Torrance High School, where Cait was a member of the class of 2026. This year, as Cait would have been graduating and preparing to continue her education at the university level, her family wishes to offer an even more substantial scholarship. The recipient will be a graduating senior at West Torrance High School who demonstrates Cait's philosophy that "There's always something to be thankful for", even in the face of adversity. Cait's family will narrow the applicants to three, and the final recipient will be chosen by Nurse Shawna, Cait's nurse at the UCLA Oncology Department.
