Hello all,

My name is Sophie and I’m here to tell everyone about Cairo (“Bubby”). With his 12th birthday coming up next month, he’s an otherwise happy old man for a German Shepherd and has been the lifelong companion of my partner Chris.

Upon doing routine bloodwork at the vet, I had noticed a lump on his elbow, after the biopsy, we had learned it was cancerous. Cairo in his old age only has his arthritic hips slowing him down without this new obstacle added to the mix. He’s a happy, goofy, otherwise healthy old man and we’re looking to keep him this way. Cairo’s procedure to remove his tumor is estimated to cost up to $5,000+ and we have been looking for ways to help afford his care.

He still has a lot of life left to live on this planet and we’re not ready to say goodbye to him yet. Neither of us are the type to ask for help, let alone financially, but with our good boy needing surgery we’re finally reaching out.
