Help Cain Fight Childhood Brain Cancer

On September 11, 2025, our world changed forever.

Cain had been experiencing double vision, and what started as a precautionary MRI quickly turned into an emergency. Doctors discovered a 17mm tumor in the center of his brain — dangerously pressing against the part responsible for draining spinal fluid.

Just five days later, on September 16, Cain underwent a high-risk, 8-hour brain surgery. The procedure was further complicated by a significant bleed, and Cain was kept in a coma and on a ventilator for two days.

When he finally woke up, he couldn’t speak clearly, had lost movement on the left side of his body, and was struggling with significant vision loss.

But Cain is a fighter, and his spirit is unshakable.

Since September 18, he has amazed doctors and therapists with his strength and determination. He’s regained movement in his left leg, his speech is improving, and every day he works hard to rebuild strength in his arm and hand.

Then, on September 22, we received the official diagnosis:

Pure Cell Germinoma — a rare but treatable form of brain cancer.

We are incredibly grateful that this type of cancer has high success rates, but Cain’s journey is far from over. He now faces months of chemotherapy, radiation, and intensive rehabilitation.

This journey has brought overwhelming emotional, physical, and financial challenges.

Just one month before Cain’s diagnosis, I was laid off due to a company merger. While I truly believe this was God's way of preparing me to be fully present for Cain, it has created serious financial strain.

Now, I’ve been told I no longer qualify for unemployment because I’m not “willing and able” to work — simply because I’ve chosen to stay home and care for my son during the most critical time of his life.
