Yesterday on Jun 10, 2017 my 7 year old brother Cailen was diagnosed with Leukemia. I made this blog to write about what goes on during his procedure. The normal white blood count is 5,000. Yesterday Cailens WBC was 429,000. Immediate medical attention was needed. The white blood cells were not allowing the red blood cells and platelets to flow through the blood vessels properly. This caused swelling in the face and feet. His chest was starting to cave and his heartbeat reached 152. The normal heartbeat for a 7 year old is roughly 100. Cailen is not very responsive and is sleeping approximately 18 hours of the day. Last night he underwent a procedure that flushes his white blood cells by adding red blood cells and platelets. The procedure was successful bringing his WBC down to 89,000. Cailen has a very long journey ahead of him. He is currently in a stage where he has to be stabilized so that he can be transferred to a hospital in the state that he lives in which is Indiana. He is currently in Nashville, TN. Cailen is very sick and has lots of recovering to do. His family is by his side at all times and we have abundant faith that God will get him through this difficult time. We are grateful for any donations that can be given for travel expenses, medicine, medical bills, or any expenses incurred during this critical time. Thank you for all donations that will help Cailen through this. We ask that you keep him in your prayers!
