I DIDN’T CHOOSE TO ASK FOR HELP. I CHOSE TO SURVIVE.
My name is Ibrahim. I am a physical therapy student from Gaza, fighting to protect my future while trying to help my family survive.
Before the war, I worked in programming and was building a life and a future for myself. When the war began, education became almost impossible, and as the occupation destroyed universities and so much of what we knew, I lost hope of continuing my studies.
Instead of giving up, I turned to photography and used every opportunity I had to work and support my family. At the same time, I organized charitable campaigns and helped distribute water to people who were struggling to survive.
Then our family home was destroyed, and our lives changed completely.
During the war, my sister also lost her husband. She is now raising her two children alone. I have five siblings, and my parents are elderly and no longer able to work. All of us are struggling to survive and support one another through circumstances that have become incredibly difficult.
Every day has become a struggle — finding food, paying rent, continuing my education, and trying to help my family while living through loss, destruction, and constant uncertainty.
Yet I am still here.
I am still studying physical therapy. I am still working whenever I can. And I am still trying to build a future where I can help others through rehabilitation while supporting the people I love.
Asking for help is not easy for me. But today, I need support because I cannot carry all of this alone.
Any donation, no matter how small, can help my family with food, rent, education, and essential needs. If you cannot donate, sharing my story could help it reach someone who can.
Thank you for seeing my story, believing in me, and helping my family keep going. ❤️
Support Ibrahim and his family
