"Elena finds herself locked in a cellar by a strange man. After her escape, she thinks the torment is over, but when she finally speaks with the detectives, she soon discovers that she was never truly freed, but simply locked in another prison. The accusations only confuse her more, and she is forced to face her hidden memories. But what will it take to finally get out of this cage?"

WRITERS - LILI SZAPOR & ÉVA PETŐ

Parts of our past remain inside of us. Sometimes we are aware of their effects, sometimes they stay buried deep within our minds. These pieces follow us, subconsciously showing us a path. However, we occasionally must return to a starting point to move forward.

With our story, we want to explore the inner journey of facing the past gently, patiently, and courageously. Sometimes, the first step is simply allowing ourselves to feel, to slow down, and to be kind to the parts of us that still carry the weight. This film is about that first step: finding the strength to meet yourself where you are, and realising that vulnerability is not weakness, but a quiet form of bravery.

DIRECTOR - ÉVA PETŐ

I always strive to create a story that most of us can relate to, and perhaps learn from. Cage shows us why it's sometimes important to take a step back to move forward, and the true meaning of self-healing.

I am so excited to bring this fantastic script to screen. Eva's sense of atmosphere and tension is unmatched, and her clear vision has shone through in our previous collaborations. I am thrilled to support our crew in the development of this project!

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - KAI KOBAYASHI RYAN

Upon first reading the script I was drawn into the story by how effectively it is paced. Told very subjectively throughout I have an amazing opportunity here to make use of our camera and lighting to involve the audience and to take us right into the mind of Elena. Having worked with Eva before I know she is an incredibly strong creative force and I can't wait to develop and bring this story to life visually. I know our visions will combine into a truly special and moving film. I can't wait to shoot it and for you all to see it!
