As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cafe Monocle along with many other businesses was forced to lay off most of our dedicated and hard working employees, cancel the private events we had booked and switch to only being open for take-out orders.
Despite applying for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) within the first twenty minutes of the application going live on the first day, with my local bank - my bank never sent my application to the SBA and now the Cafe will not receive relief through the program.
Although we are open for take-out, our business has been hit hard as a result of the pandemic. If you have enjoyed our space, our staff, our stories, our food, our drinks and our commitment to the community - we are asking for your help to ensure our doors stay open beyond this crisis.
We look forward to the day our restaurant is able to open their doors to the public and put everyone back to work. In the meantime, our thoughts are with you all and hope you stay safe & healthy.
