Dear Friends,

 

We hope that you and your loved ones are well and staying safe.

 

Like most of our colleagues, due to the pandemic we’ve had to lay-off almost our entire team, many of whom have been with Café Katja for the 12 years we’ve been open. For the first time, we’re unable to give them the security that they’ve earned. They’re faced with financial crisis and an uncertain future. Filing for unemployment benefits is a fiasco right now and anyway will be inadequate for most to pay rent and take care of their families.

 

Asking you for help is incredibly humbling but we have a responsibility to our crew that we can’t fulfill by ourselves. 100% of anything you can give will go directly to them and will help them weather this storm.

 

We’re so grateful for the friendship and support you’ve shown us over the years. Please take care of yourselves and each other. We miss you all.
