Caelan Escalante

It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Caelan Escalante. Caelan’s life was cut short by a tragic accident on Wednesday Aug 27.

Anyone who knew Caelan was better for it. He was full of life, passion, and love. Every time that you had a conversation with Caelan you caught the heart of Jesus in everything he said and did. Caelan lived a life of a true worshipper. He poured out his whole life and heart for his faith and for the people in his life. Caelan was a true leader, and he made everyone feel seen, loved, and understood. He always stopped for the one, the overlooked, and the misunderstood. Caelan always went above and beyond in everything he did. He would always give his full effort in his work at First Assembly to make sure that everything was perfect and honouring to God. He cared deeply for his friends and family and made every effort to show true love and intentionality in his relationships. He was fun and creative and believed deeply in investing in the next generation. His passing has leaves a hole in his family and community that can never be filled. Caelan’s life has impacted so many from his music and worship leading, through pouring into children through the JC Squad, through caring for the youth of Calgary through FA Youth, the 403 Network, Sunnyside Camp, CFG Youth, and through all his work in production he lived the true life of a disciple. He will be deeply missed, and his legacy and impact will carry on for generations to come.

As the family grieves this unimaginable loss, we are calling on his community to help lift the financial burden. We are creating this GoFundMe to give his family the space to grieve without added financial stress. No amount of money can ever ease the pain of losing Caelan, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.
