On Friday, September 14th, Caden was riding his bike and was hit by a logging truck.  He sustained a severely fractured femur, right hand fracture, orbital fracture to his right eye, and a traumatic brain injury, resulting in a right brain bleed.

Caden was flown to a Springfield hospital where he will be until he is stable.   He had surgery on Sunday to repair his broken femur.  The neurologists are closely monitoring the brain bleeding and his neurological status.

His parents, Brent and Dawne Mitchell, are long-time residents of Springdale.  They both work for the Springdale School District.  Brent is the band director at Sonora Middle School and Dawne is a 6th grade math teacher at Hellstern Middle School.   Caden is in 9th grade at Central Junior High, and his sister, Kaelynn, is in the 4th grade at Shaw Elementary. 

Caden and his family have a long road ahead of them.  Please continue to pray for healing and strength.
