As some of you may know, my mom Jeanette is currently dealing with a health scare that has thrown us all for a loop. To protect her privacy, I will not go into detail. What I will say is that this issue has them making multiple trips to Morgantown’s Ruby Memorial Hospital. At the age of 61, she had the very first surgery of her life on 12/2/2025. She is recovering well. But between gas, hotels, co-pays, co-insurance, medications, and time off work for both her and my dad… the cost is and will continue to be exorbitant.
To know her is to love her, that’s the absolute best way to put it. Ask anyone— My mom has always gone above and beyond for others. When I had surgery in 2013, she put her life on hold to move in with me for 6+ weeks… to cook, to clean, and to care for the boys. I can never repay her, but this is me trying.
If you looked up “synonym for stubborn,” you’d probably find the word SONDAY in black and white. My mom & dad will be downright angry when they learn of this fundraiser; they’re very private and proud people. But my hope is that the second wave of emotion they experience is one of relief.
I know the holidays are near and times are hard for many. As a family, we already agreed not to exchange Christmas gifts as it goes without saying that a healthy her is all we could wish for.
Donations will be wholeheartedly appreciated.
One final request— pleeeease don’t tell them I did this. It’s gonna be one of those “better to ask forgiveness than permission” type of deals. If you don’t see any updates from me as the days go by… I’m probably grounded.
