As of Monday 1st February 2021, we will be offering free rides to and from any COVID-19 vaccination site anywhere in Kent.
No payment will be requested from the passengers, regardless of the length of the journey or the waiting time involved.
Furthermore, in addition to COVID-19 vaccinations we are offering the same free service to ANY doctor appointments, hospital appointments, prescriptions collections and deliveries etc.
We as a company are providing this service free to the local residents but please support us and make a donation towards the running costs of the vehicles and paying the drivers! Please also share this page!
Having seen the popularity and demand of Castle Cars' 'Cabs for Jabs' campaign, we at Yalding Taxis have been inspired to introduce a similar scheme within our local community.
We commend Castle Cars for putting this scheme into effect for their locals, but their resources are limited, and we imagine that like ourselves they are probably having to limit the scheme to a maximum radius from their base of operations.
Many other areas are in need of a similar service including our own, given the lack of work at the moment we would encourage any other taxi company or independent driver to introduce a similar scheme within their local area! Getting out there and helping the local community surely has to be better than sitting at home, right?
As of Monday 1st February 2021, we will be offering free rides to and from any COVID-19 vaccination site anywhere in Kent. Some locals have reported having to go as far as Headcorn and Ticehurst for their vaccinations, many people (especially the elderly, people with underlying health conditions and the vulnerable) are worried about using public transport for fear of contracting/spreading the virus but these locations are quite some distance from our area (30 miles and an hour round trip direct by car) and public transport would be very difficult or impossible in any case because of the remoteness of the vaccination sites not being in a major town centre. We are leaving the scheme open to destinations anywhere in Kent in case more centres should open in other locations in the future. Therefore, we recognise a legitimate need for us to volunteer this service in our area.

Furthermore, in addition to COVID-19 vaccinations we are offering the same free service to ANY doctor appointments, hospital appointments, prescriptions collections and deliveries etc. All our drivers have an enhanced criminal record check and are licensed and vetted by the local authority so you can be confident that the surgery dispensaries and pharmacies will be happy for us to handle your medication, even controlled drugs (all we have to provide is ID).
This scheme is initially open to residents of the following areas:
Yalding
Laddingford
Hunton
West Farleigh
Depending on demand and available resources we plan to gradually roll the scheme out to residents of the following areas very soon:
Wateringbury
Nettlestead
Collier Street
Teston
East Peckham
Coxheath
East Farleigh
Whetsted
Paddock Wood
We as a company are providing this service free to the local residents but please support us and make a donation towards the running costs of the vehicles and paying the drivers! Please also share this page!
Should any funds raised from this scheme exceed the actual expense of running it, the remaining balance will be donated to The Friends of Yalding Surgery charity.
Offer is subject to availability, we are not anticipating ever not having availability but please give us as much notice as possible in any case (even if you need to alter or cancel the booking at a later date), we will be able to tell you when you make your booking whether we have availability or not.
We are starting off with a limited number of qualifying areas and plan to gradually include other areas over the next few weeks so we can get a feel for demand and not initially inundate ourselves with demand (we would hate to be turning round to people saying we are fully booked so if your area is on the list of places not yet included please bear with us!).
In order to protect ourselves against potential abuse of this service that we are offering we reserve the right to ask to see a letter or other proof confirming the appointment, we are sure this will not be necessary in the vast majority (if not all) cases. We would let you know before the journey if this is required, we would not simply spring the request on you once you are already in the car and then refuse you transport!!!
