( WARNING: Some photos may be graphic) My name is Mairelys Cabrera and on Sunday, July 14th, 2019 my family and I were in a car accident that resulted in severe injuries. A reckless driver turned left on a red light as we were crossing an intersection and in order to avoid a crash my mom swerved out of his way, but she lost control of the car and we plummeted into a tree. My mother and sister are covered in lacerations and severe bruising all over. My brothers arm was broken and required surgery, while also having minor bleeding in his head and I have a broken rib (resulted in small part of my lung collapsing), lacerations on my spleen and liver (resulted in internal bleeding), and fractures on multiple parts of my spine. We are beyond grateful and blessed to be alive but this accident has taken a toll physically, mentally, and financially. I am in between jobs and my mother who is an uber/lyft driver has lost her vehicle as well as the means to drive for the time being. It is honestly very uncomfortable for us to ask for financial help but my family and I cannot do this on our own. Any amount is beyond appreciated, even just sharing this is something i'm beyond grateful for anyone doing. I dont like asking for something without giving back, so I'd love to send a personalized drawing/painting giving thanks to anyone who helps us in any way. If you'd like one just please let me know.
