Mona Lisa is my pride and joy. This dog is my family, my best friend, my cuddle bug, my running buddy, my therapist, my road trip navigator. In other words I can’t imagine my world with out her this unexpected. For anyone who knows Mona they know she’s a spaz as she’s an Australian Shepard who craves attention and running and doing tricks or destroying whatever new toy I surprise her with from my impulsive Marshall trips.
When I can home on Friday she seems groggy sleepy and uninterested . I assumed she’s just run down from the drop in temperature or sleepy. Come Saturday I jump into a cleaning spree run out to Marshalls come back with a new toy to up her spirits ! She’s barley interested in her new toy which is completely out of character …her food bowl hadn’t been touched she pissed puddles on the floor 4 times in a 24hour span and she acting lethargic weak a rapid decline in such a short amount of time as it now trickling into Sunday and is continuing to decline and no improvement in her symptoms. This is a dog that is strong and can pull my arm off on a walk and she can’t even get on the couch during this time. I immediately took her to the vet they ran a bunch of diagnostics/ blood work and X-rays and determined she has a serious infection that requires emergency surgery without batting and eye I said yes. I applied for a medical credit card but doesn’t even cover a 1/4 of what it’s gonna cost but when it’s someone you love. Money doesn’t matter when it’s life or death. The sad reality of the situation is I don’t make enough to cover the medical expenses especially so unexpected on my own so please if you know how much I love this dog or you just love animals and refuse to see them suffering anyyyy contribution is incredibly appreciated and will have contributed to extending the valuable time I will have left with her if the surgery goes smooth.
Thoughts and prayers while we wait and see the end result.
