Help Zayden continue his fight to beat Leukemia

Nov 24th. 2023- Our lives got flipped upside down. Our 3 year old son was just diagnosed with Leukemia. Here is our story. Janelle (my Wife) and I noticed Zaydens has had some bruises all over his body, pale in color has been very fatigued… just walking from the car to the store front, or car Into the house.. what I didn’t know Janelle had some gut feelings about somethings and made him a dr. Apt online for Monday. Per normal Janelle went to bed after working all night, I took the kids to “the big backyard” an indoor playground. While playing I got a call from the Dr. saying he didn’t want to wait till Monday he wanted to see Zaydens right away. So I hesitatly said sure… knowing Janelle was sleeping, ah I’ll take him no big deal.. on my way to the Dr. had a feeling I should go wake up Janelle to come with. They took Zaydens hemoglobin sample in the office and no more than 2 mins later Dr. came back in and I’ll never forget his big sigh and look in his eyes when he told us we need to go the ER as his test came back at a 4 and should be more like an 11 which with his symptoms of bruises and pale color this was more than likely Leukemia for someone his age……… in disbelief I keep replaying the doctors Sigh and look in my head, thinking did he just say what I think he said… so I asked again WHAT? He said yes. I suggest taking Harley to grandmas as it’s going to be a long road ahead of us.

We dropped off Harley, went home grabbed a few things for Zaydens and rushed over to Children’s Hospital. With the ER team awaiting our arrival. And Dr. after Dr. coming in.. test being run. It was confirmed all signs leading to Leukemia. As Janelle and I trying to keep it together tears rolling down our face, Zayden not having a clue in the world what is going on… I know we have to be strong for him.

Where are we at today? Zayden's in the remission phase of treatment. They have not detected any Leukemia in his last blood test results. We still have a very long road ahead of us, as we still have 2.25 years left of his treatment plan to help keep Zayden in Remission. Many trips to Children's Hospital, Many missed days of work. Many long nights in fear as a parent watching his every breath.
