Hello, my name is Alex Martinez. I am 16-years-old and will be starting my Senior year at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, CA this fall. I have spent countless hours these past 6 years training to meet my goal of being able to wrestle at the collegiate level. I’ve had to overcome multiple injuries (broken arm, ankle, shoulder dislocations & surgery). Although the injuries have required lots of time off from training and competition, I have never given up on my goals. It has been very difficult physically and emotionally to come back from so many injuries but I am a very positive person and I believe all the challenges and setbacks have just made me more determined.

This month I was selected for both the CA Junior Dual & Fargo National Teams. I had to beat multiple state-qualifiers and last year’s National Team Members in the last few months to qualify. The National Teams will be competing at Tulsa, Oklahoma (duals) & the prestigious Fargo Tournament in North Dakota this summer. Junior Duals & Fargo are some of the toughest wrestling tournaments in the nation.

Fargo and Dual Nationals are high-level tournaments where the top wrestlers from each state compete. Being able to compete at Fargo and Dual Nationals is a truly amazing opportunity for me to be able wrestle in front of the top college coaches & recruiters.

In addition to my continuing rehab from surgery and my wrestling training, I am also spending my summer working to try to help pay for some of my wrestling expenses (camps, Tulsa Duals & Fargo), but I need your help.

There are many expenses to be able to compete in these prestigious tournaments (transportation, lodging, meals and uniforms). The cost of my trips is approximately $3000. I am hoping to raise at least $1,800 to help me with all the costs.

Your generous donations will help me reach my goals as a wrestler by being able to represent California and San Diego at Nationals this summer.
