California Camp Fire Total Loss – Help Marya & Deb

Marya & Deb are victims of the Camp Fire in Paradise California.  They and their neighbors / community were awakened early on the morning the fire started, by a neighbor calling to tell them to get out quickly, the fire was coming.  The fire started right near Paradise and spread quickly, trapping people in their homes and cars.  Many people who tried to drive out eventually abandoned their cars and ran for their lives.  Deb was at work that morning, but Marya only had time to grab their pets, get in the car and flee the area.

 

Marya and Deb lost their home and all contents in the fire.  They are happy to be alive, along with their pets and other family members who lived next door, but are grieving for the many who lost their lives and homes in the fire as well.  Deb’s mother and brother lived in homes next door to Deb & Marya, and they lost their homes and contents in the fire.  All of them are homeless at this point though staying with friends.  Deb & Marya are staying in a camper with some friends and trying to pick up the pieces.

 

As we all know, insurance can take a while to come through, and typically covers the home structure and its contents.  However, they also need help with clearing the home site where the home stood, temporary housing until they can either build or acquire a new home, and with purchasing home supplies, clothes, personal items, and other things while in this temporary situation. 

 

Any help you can provide to them is greatly appreciated as they and their other family members all have lost so much.  Among the four of them, three homes and all contents were lost.  Thank you for your generosity.
