Ethiopia Insight is seeking your support for our Analytical Reporting to Improve the Federation (ARIF) project!

In light of the worsening violence in Ethiopia mainly driven by disputes over identity and power, ARIF's Ethiopian reporters will produce a series of in-depth analytical and investigative publications.

Their purpose is to explain the drivers of the deadly instability in this diverse federation and offer constructive suggestions on moving the country towards a brighter and more peaceful future.

ARIF plan!

Last year, we ran the Ethiopia Insight Election Project (EIEP), which provided the most granular and analytical coverage of Ethiopia’s 2021 general election by producing eleven reports with a regional focus and four on cross-cutting themes. We also published translations of all articles and produced ten EIEP podcasts.

As a follow-up project, ARIF will investigate the causes and nature of political violence in Ethiopia, particularly to highlight potential improvements to the make-up and functioning of the federal system.
